Name: Madonna Louise Veronica Ciccone
Born: August 16,1958

Birthplace: Bay City, Michigan

Madonna is the third of six children and her family is very religious. Her mom died at age 5 of breast cancer. Her dad later on married her stepmother, who was their maid at the time. She was a straight-A student, cheerleader, and disciplined dancer who graduated from high school a semester early. She earned a dancing scholarship to attend the University of Michigan. She later on moved to New York in order to further her dance career. She later was introduced to the head of vaudeville review in Paris to work as a showgirl by David Gilroy, who she was dating at the time. While in France she fell in love with singing and performing and joined a band by being the drummer and later on being the lead singer. In the 80's she formed many bands named "Madonna & the Sky","The Millionaires" and "Emmy". She decided to have a solo career and hired her own manager. A friend of hers wrote her first hit called "Everybody". After that she signed her first record deal with Sire Records. Her career began with the songs "Borderline", "Lucky star" and "Holiday". She also starred in many films.
