Ronald Wilson Reagan February 6 1911 – June 5 2004 was the 40th president of the united staes from 1981–1989 and the 33rd Governor of California 1967–1975.
Born in Tampico Illinois Reagan moved to Los Angeles California in the 1930s. He began a career as an actor first in films and later television appearing in 52 movie productions and gaining enough success to become a household name. Reagan left office in 1989.




Reagan's ability to connect with the American people earned him the laudatory moniker The Great Communicator. Reagan said I won the nickname the great communicator. But I never thought it was my style that made a difference it was the content. I wasnt a great communicator but I communicated great things. His age and soft spoken speech gave him a warm grandfatherly image.





Reagan also earned the nickname the Teflon President in that public perceptions of him were not tarnished by the controversies that arose during his administration. The combination of Reagan's speaking style, unabashed patriotism, negotiation skills, as well as his savvy use of the media, played an important role in defining the 1980s and his future legacy.
